About the workshop

Immerse Yourself in Nature’s Beauty

Join us for a truly special one-day workshop led by Treea Cracknell (The London Flower Farmer) and Anna Day (The Flower Appreciation Society), set in the heart of Treea’s beautiful flower field in Walthamstow, East London. Surrounded by colour, scent and birdsong, you’ll learn the essentials of growing, cutting, conditioning and arranging flowers straight from the field — perfect for home florists, keen gardeners, or anyone dreaming of taking their first steps into floristry or flower growing.

We begin the day with a warm welcome and a hands-on demonstration, showing you how to create a bowl-based, ikebana-inspired arrangement. You’ll learn the principles of balance, space, and form, and get a sense of techniques you’ll use throughout the day.

Next, we take a guided tour of the flower field, where you’ll discover how flowers are grown, maintained, and prepared for cutting. After the tour, you’ll head out into the field to cut your own bucket of seasonal blooms, selecting the perfect stems for your arrangements. Once you’ve harvested your flowers, it’s your turn to get creative and arrange them in a low bowl, putting into practice the techniques demonstrated earlier in the day.

We then pause to enjoy a fresh, light lunch, served right beside the flowers — a peaceful moment to relax, chat and soak up the surroundings.

In the afternoon, Treea will share her expert knowledge on what to grow, how to plan a plot, and practical steps for beginning (or expanding) your flower-growing journey.

With your freshly harvested blooms, you’ll then create a loose, textural hand-tied bouquet, exploring colour, movement and natural shape, and gaining confidence to design beautiful bouquets at home.

We finish the day with tea and homemade cake, surrounded by flowers.

Leave feeling inspired, uplifted and full of new knowledge — with lots of wonderful fresh flowers and skills to enjoy for years to come.
